নয়াদিল্লি: ওয়াকফ সম্পত্তি নিয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নির্দেশ দিল সুপ্রিম কোর্ট। বিচার বিভাগীয় পর্যালোচনা সম্পূর্ণ না হওয়া পর্যন্ত কোনও অবস্থাতেই ওয়াকফ সম্পত্তি থেকে কাউকে উচ্ছেদ করা যাবে না, এমনই নির্দেশ দিল প্রধান বিচারপতি ডি.ওয়াই. চন্দ্রচূড়ের নেতৃত্বাধীন বেঞ্চ।
বুধবারের শুনানিতে কেন্দ্রের পক্ষে সলিসিটর জেনারেল তুষার মেহতা জানান, যেহেতু গোটা আইনি প্রক্রিয়া এখনও বিচারাধীন, তাই আপাতত কোনও উচ্ছেদের পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হবে না।
প্রসঙ্গত, ওয়াকফ আইনের তিনটি ধারা নিয়ে বিতর্ক রয়েছে। এপ্রিল মাসে কেন্দ্র আদালতকে জানায়, আপাতত ওই তিনটি বিতর্কিত ধারা কার্যকর করা হবে না। তবে শুনানিতে মেহতা দাবি করেন, আবেদনকারীরা আইনটির বাছাই করা কিছু অংশ তুলে ধরে আদালতের দৃষ্টি ঘোরানোর চেষ্টা করছেন।
কেন্দ্রের বক্তব্য, ওয়াকফের ধারণাটি ধর্মনিরপেক্ষতার ভিত্তিতে দাঁড়িয়ে রয়েছে, তাই এর সাংবিধানিক বৈধতা চ্যালেঞ্জ করে সম্পূর্ণ আইনের উপর স্থগিতাদেশ জারি করা যুক্তিযুক্ত নয়।
পরবর্তী শুনানি না হওয়া পর্যন্ত এই নির্দেশ বলবৎ থাকবে বলে জানিয়েছে আদালত।
